Larry Hannon - Harmonious Horsemanship

ABOUT LARRY

Larry was born and raised on a large cow ranch in the Osage Country of Oklahoma.  His father was ranch foreman, and Larry was horseback at an early age.  By the time he was a freshman in high school he was starting colts for the ranch remuda under the watchful eyes of his dad and the head cowboy.

He attended Oklahoma State University earning a B.S. in Animal Science and a M.S. in Veterinary Parasitology & Microbiology.  His emphasis was in the Production/Nutrition Option, and studying the diseases and parasites of livestock.

Serving in the US Air Force as a Veterinary Technician and Field Medic during the Vietnam War, he received many citations while serving his country, and was Honorably Discharged.

Larry spent six years as a cooperative Extension Agent in Western Nebraska, serving on the Nebraska State 4-H Horse Committee four of those years.  He was ring steward, arena superintendent, and assistant manager of the state horse show, and also served as AKSARBEN Horse Show ring steward, assistant manager, and manager.

He has judged numerous 4-H Youth and Open Class horse shows in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, and continues to judge shows, give private lessons and conduct clinics on Harmonious Horsemanship.

Larry is a member of the AQHA as a breeder of ‘Good All Around Using Horses’, and is an AQHA Professional Horseman, as well as a Certified Horse Temperament Typologist.  He has successfully shown his horses to promote his breeding program, and strives to match each horse with the right person, be it accomplished rider, novice or youth.

He spent 18 years as a Technical Service/Sales Representative in the Agricultural Chemical Industry, and possesses a keen business sense striving for professionalism in every sense of the word; and his ‘Word’ is his bond.

Larry travels throughout the country conducting his 2 – 3 day clinics/schools in Harmonious Horsemanship for both horse and rider.  These clinics are intense and personal for beginner, intermediate and advanced horse and rider, promoting safety by utilizing the principles of Connecting, Collecting, Correcting, and Suppling of the horse and rider.

It has been said, "He gets inside the heads of both the horse and the rider for positive results".  He has spent his entire life learning the ways of the horse.

“A TRUE HORSEMAN HAS LEARNED
